Sitespecific Intervention
Cité++ ist eine auf dem Kopf stehende Pyramide, die als Bauvorhaben auf einem öffentlichen Platz annonciert wird. Die obere Fläche der Pyramide soll an den Meistbietenden als bebaubare Parzelle verkauft werden. Dem öffentlichen Raum wird nur eine geringe Fläche entzogen, der verbleibende Raum unter der Pyramide bleibt weiterhin öffentlich nutzbar. Eine in der Schweiz übliche Bauaussteckung markiert die Eckpunkte und visualisiert das Bauvolumen. Zusätzlich wird mit einer Bauinformationstafel sowohl über das Bauprojekt als auch über die Vermarktung informiert.
Das fiktive Bauvorhaben Cité++ adressiert Anwohner und Passanten. Als
Affirmation der Stadtplanung forciert es Gedanken zur Stadtentwicklung und zum Wert kollektiven Eigentums.
The announcement of a building project on a public open space constitutes the core of the project. The building project itself is a large upside down pyramid. On a billboard the upper surface of the pyramid is advertised as building land, which will be sold to the highest bider. The volume of the a project is marked with scaffoldings.
As a site specific intervention Cite++ examines neoliberal developments in urban spheres and the densification of urban housing. The project is a polarizing assertion as well as a social plastic that aims to generate a critical general public. Cite++ opens up space for controversy about general public, public space, and value of common property.
Cité++ addresses local residents and passer-bys through subversive affirmation and triggers thoughts about the city as a model of society.
